The Parents would get a seed and show it to the little one, but the little one was not sure about it and stayed in the tree off to the side just watching.

Went out to the local Gardens and Sculpture park today and sat by the feeders for a bit.

K3 and my old Tokina 400mm AF 5.6.

This cheap old film lens still does a pretty decent job and it does not back my back like the Bigma.

Powerful Owl (Ninox Strenua - Adult Male 67cm), the largest owl in Australia with his dinner - a Fruit Bat (Megabat - Pteropodidae). These owls normally eat possums and small marsupials but he must have been hungry to go for a Fruit Bat.

The largest Fruit Bats (this one) attain a wingspan of 1.7 m (5.6 ft), weighing in at up to 1.6 kg (3.5 lb)

Sigma 150-500, ISO 1600, 310mm, f6.3, 1/13sec, using monopod.

I notice we are being told that the DA*300 is good to go on a K-1 here, but now I see a big
presentation by B & H that contains not one but 2 disclaimers warning that it is not compatible.
I've got the 300mm range covered with older FA glass, but this puzzles me.

Weird. The review page lists it as FF: SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

DA lenses were not marketed as FF compatible by Pentax, Hoya, or Ricoh until the K-1 came out. B&H has simply not updated their listing.

I hadn't looked at one of their ads before, but why would they need a disclaimer before the K-1 existed as there was no FF that it would fit anyway.

I'm thinking that either they are worried about a Sigma syndrome appearing, or figure that half the users won't bother to override the auto lens selection
routine, and would be upset with the black line in the viewfinder.

I hope pentax has a plan to relabel/remodel their long primes for official FF use.

As usual Ken - another stunner

Does Pentax have you on retainer?
