Got out for a bit today in the poke boat. This place was completely covered in lily pads. A barely noticeable beaver channel was all the allowed for some paddling. Had to push through about 75 yards of pads and mud to get close enough to get these pics. Taken with the K3, DA* 300, 1.4 TC, mounted to an OBEN tripod, and equipped with my new Induro GImbal head attachment. This single pieces of gear is absolutely helping me getting better pictures. I watched the GBH catch two fish, of course, he caught the tiniest one once I got close enough for pictures. About 30 minutes prior to my 'stalk', he caught one about 6" long.

No blind Bob, just walking on the railroad tracks.
I was pretty close to this one, say 30 feet cropped to 5MP.

A few more Kestrel shots. And a butterfly of some kind.

A Bobolink who was playing a game of hide-and-seek... taken with the K-1 + HDTC1.4x + FA*250-600

Goglu des prés qui joue à la cache-cache / Bobolink who plays a game of hide-and-seek [Dolichonyx oryzivorus]
by Sylvain Cote, sur Flickr

This image was cropped because the HDTC 1.4x is not FF compatible (unfortunately...)
Hope Pentax/Ricoh will issue a new FF TC eventually...

this is the uncropped version FYI.

K-3, DA 55-300 Black Headed Grosbeak

Blink and they disappear! Quick moving birds. The two shots are at these times:

2016-07-09 4:59:53 PM - the good one
2016-07-09 4:59:54 PM - the fuzzy BIF I tried to follow.

Because of the back lighting I used a radial filter on the eye in the good one. Taken at ISO 800, program mode.
