Nice shots. I love the shots when taken nice and low, close to water level in this case.
Thanks... yes sometimes, you have to compromise yourself to take better shots... It's always better to be at the same level as your subject.

actually, I took that shot to illustrate that... I was even lower than that... My tripod head was just flush above the water level...

looks amazing, sharp, smooth bokeh and bird are very well in the focus plane.

Thanks, I never show all the other ones that aren't ...

Maybe I'll make an exception here, I did try to capture them in strong backlight... the subject (Lesser Yellowlegs) is a bit OOF, but the ensemble has a special look with that incredible bokeh from the FA*250-600 on the K-1!!!
... good flare resistance too!

Great pic with the tripod nice and low. I always try to get low if possible,,sometimes holding lens just above the water handheld using tilt screen like
in K-1,,,nice feature to have when needed.

Great Horned Owl

I went back to the spot where I had been seeing the young owls and was able to find one who seemed to be going through his wake up stretching routine. He went about stretching and scratching and preening for about 20 minutes. Here are some of his various movements. FA 600

Well that's just fine but my current shorebird spot is a sewage lagoon, so there's a limit as to how low you can go!

K-3 and DA*200 ƒ2.8 with F 1.7x AF adapter (340mm)

ISO 640, ƒ5, shutter speeds from 1/250 to 1/1600s (AV)

A few young hummers at the feeder....

Most of the flowers are done, but there are still a few having on.

Tree seeds are ripening...

The ninja squirrels and packrat chipmunks continue their antics.

It's just business as usual, for anyone who's keeping track.
