That is cool. More gyrations than a politicians caught with no answer during a debate.

Norm: Packrat chipmunk? Looks like our Golden Mantled ground squirrel. Nice shots.

Got up early this morning to check out a talus slope I found last week.

This view graced my hike up the mountain.

ISO 640, ƒ5, shutter speeds from 1/250 to 1/1600s (AV)

A few young hummers at the feeder....

Most of the flowers are done, but there are still a few having on.

Tree seeds are ripening...

The ninja squirrels and packrat chipmunks continue their antics.

It's just business as usual, for anyone who's keeping track.
Gorgeous hummingbirds. As usual. But you can't go wrong with squirrels and chipmunks.

Thanks for getting up early. Maybe someday I'll get to see a pika.

One from yesterday. A green heron in the shade late in the day. Without tripod but had to drop shutter speed to 1/100 to keep ISO at 800.. Didn't turn out too bad.

Great pic with the tripod nice and low. I always try to get low if possible,,sometimes holding lens just above the water handheld using tilt screen like
in K-1,,,nice feature to have when needed.

Well that's just fine but my current shorebird spot is a sewage lagoon, so there's a limit as to how low you can go!
Ho, until now I did not know what was the translation of a "Sewage lagoon", but now I know... lol yeah, not inviting to go into those water... lol.

Turned out very well. Even 4-stop image stabilization is challenged by my caffeine-activated hands.

K-3 and DA*200 with HD DA 1.4 and 1.7x adapter stacked

We always let this wild plant have it's place on the hill with the rest of the flowers. I just call them "rock plants" but I'm sure they have a proper name.

Today, it got a thorough examination by a local woodpecker.

I'm a sucker for shots where I don't have to leave my porch.
