DA*300 @420mm

(It was the first time I put a long lens on K-1. AF worked pretty well, even it was already quite dark outside. Next time I'd like to try K-1 with DA560.)

Taken in low light. K-5/FA*600mmF4 ED[IF]/Eckla window mount.

Better light for these.

Too close again

Love all the shots!
But I like the kestrel in flight one the best.

Quite a collection of kingfishers. Were they all taken in Singapore?

This red-bellied woodpecker kindly remained at the feeder while I retrieved and installed a memory card.
Image was captured through glass of a sliding door with a Sakar 1:8/500 on a handheld K-x.

Out of the 13 kingfishers, 8 were taken at Singapore and out of this 8, only 4 are resident birds.
The rest shot from Thailand and Malaysia.

The male Superb Fairy Wrens are a brilliant blue, but the females are quite pretty in their own way. K-1 with FA*300.

Below it is a wallaby that had that "I should run away, but these people interest me" thing going on for a while. K-S2 with FA*300, 1.4TC and Better Beamer flash extender.

Myocastor coypus (Nutria). K1 +/- crop, DFA150-450 + TC +/- fill flash, taken before sunset. Colors were really yellow / orange because of the low angle of the sun in November (daylight white balanced used here). Absence of wind and no ducks around to allow a flat water surface acting like a mirror; especially when shooting at a low angle.

I was waiting for a Kingfisher to land on a perch, having equipped the K1 with a flash and flash extender. The Kindfisher passed in front of me a couple of times but he did not land on a perch. While I stayed camouflaged waiting for the Kingfisher, this Nutria did not see me and was swimming in my direction, but when I turned the camera slowly he saw some movement and changed direction, I did not move and finally he started again his afternoon bath. The kingfisher came later after sunset; he landed on perch 8 to 10 meters away, it was dark I could barely see him in the view finder. I pushed the flash to full power and refocused in LV mode / K1 outdoor LCD setting so I could still see where the Kingfisher had landed. The flash fired, but the shot was blurred camera motion + miss-focused.
