This one with Pentax K-1 and SMC 500mm f/4.5. There was very little light left and the K-1 has no problem to shoot at ISO-3200. I am blown away what this sensor can do.

I put a roadkill Pheasant on the side of a track this morning and got these shots of a Common Buzzard. K-5/Pentax K-5/FA*600mm f4 ED [IF]/Eckla window mount.

Thanks Terry for the respond. I have few more months to decide before I pull the trigger and buy new lens. I wish Pentax would come out with new 500mm or 600mm f/4 with fast focusing like new HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE.

Here's another shot at 630mm (450+1.4xTC, 945mm equiv on FF) and wide open. It is small crop.

Congratulations! No surprise. You consistently set benchmarks for excellence with your bird images. I think that all of us on PF are both impressed and inspired, and really pleased for the recognition you've received.

Well, it's always hard to follow one of Ken's wonderful images, but here's an unexpected outcome of a stroll on the Toronto waterfront this morning - our first Snowy Owl of the year, and as a bonus it had its eyes fully open. Also with Lake Ontario behind it had a relatively "clean" background which I know will appeal to Ken.

What a lovely peek at Spring in December! ;-)

Another fantastic bird and photograph Ken. What keeps me going is knowing that I have the same lens and maybe some day I'll get a shot half as good as this!
