My first hour shooting with the new Sigma 500mm f/4.5 and I fell in love. It's deceivingly tiny size almost fooled me, she still weighs a tad more than the 560mm but is 100x easier to maneuver.

A common snipe to go with the one posted above. The perch has been in regular use.

Congrats for your new acquisition ... makes me wanting that lens too for an alternate of the heavy FA250-600...
Did you bought it here on PF marketplace?

I found the lens a pleasure to use and one that yields good results. Use in good health in the coming year.

Thanks Sylvain! I bought the used one off B&H's website. While I can't say it was exactly as described, I'm still thrilled to have this lens. It's much shorter than the 560, around the same weight but easier to use. Keep in mind that I've only had 2 partial days of use with it, but am surprised with how sharp it is. The photo I posted above was minimally edited, not sharpened. The minimum focusing distance is a dream to work with compared to the 560. I'm so glad Alex Jansen convinced me to jump on this gem!

I have a feeling this is going to be my main lens for 2017

Another migratory from the East. Dark-sided FC, almost identical to the Asian-brown FC. Still playing around with the setting of the K70..
