nice photos
years ago, I was a passenger going down a rural road in Northwest Iowa when a cock pheasant flushed as we approached. He paralleled the pick up truck for 30 - 45 seconds, so close that if the window had been down I could have grabbed it out of mid air.
They used to be very plentiful in multiple mid western states here in the US but through several factors among them the farmers plowing and planting fence row to fence row leaving no boundary belt of grasses and weeds and the mowing or burning of the road ditches, there was severe habitat loss and now they are only common in a few states.
they are beautiful imports from China originally I believe
you have nicely captured the side shots, now we eagerly and impatiently await the full frontal, top and tail photos. When will you post those??
