That first image should become a classic.

Cool how you caught the bird just before its feet touched down, but the wings are folded up.

I have been putting more of my recent pics in the 150-450 thread, but seeing as this thread gets WAY more traffic, and it is the 300+ club... I'll post in both. I went back to the eagles' nest this weekend, and finally had better light to shoot with. It's amazing what a little morning sun can do for the photos!

This is the first shot from my new K-3ii with a Sigma 500mm f4.5 EX DG/Eckla window mount. 60% crop

I also checked the shutter count of my trusty K-5 and it's 56,613

I find my K-3 just pushes the level of the detail over the top on many images like this.

Welcome to the K-3 fraternity (and sorority!) Gary! It's not fair that some of your "chickadees" are so much more colourful than ours.

So you advanced your camera to K3ii.

Does that couple through correctly to the Sigma like the K3, but unlike the K5?

I sometimes see those birds near here and also near the office.

All of my lenses work fine with the K-3ii and K-5 ,it was when I tried a K-5iiS I found it would not focus using the Sigma 300 and 500mm lenses so I took it back to the

shop and got a full refund [I think I used it for about a week]

The shop tried to say it was the lenses that I was using So I took them with me to the shop to demonstrate the problem [ they didn't know that I only had primes]

Good that it all works.

Sometimes I look out the office window and see birds of types you have placed pictures of here. And other times I see them in the back yard outside the kitchen window.
