To cooler weather birds - the Long-tailed Duck are back on Lake Ontario and I always post pics of them at this time of year. At this location groups of them move and feed feed as a flock, disappearing all at once leaving flat water then popping up all together maybe 20 seconds later. They're so preoccupied that they don't seem to be too bothered by me being there, though they will suddenly skitter across the water away from you at a moment's notice.
Another cloudy day so I used the DA*300mm without the TC.

Jacamar, I was actually taking photos of a golden eagle when the quail just ran up to see what I was doing....they took turns looking me over from on the rock pile, until someone started fighting!

Yes, probably a Rock Pipit (Anthus petrosus), although I don't have a lot of experience with European species of pipit.

I would say that's spot on, as my field guide says: "habituates beaches out of the breeding season..."

A few more K-1 images from the park. I had the parking lot where many people feed the birds to myself, meaning the birds were more comfortable getting close. That led to a camera body change from the K3 to the K-1, brought along for landscape shooting. But, if you have a choice take off the CT or use a bigger sensor, the bigger sensor is the logical choice.

Birds taking care of birds business.
