Gorgeous photos Terry. I find it interesting the first photo was shot with a shutter speed of 1/1600 and the second 1/640. Just looking at the photos, I would have thought it was the opposite. Again, very nice, especially handheld.

Don't you love them? Here's a tip: share a little scrambled egg and you'll be friends for life. Our resident EYRs have a chick at present. I'll post once I get a decent shot.

Great get Terry. I've only ever got blurry and distant shots of a Little Eagle. Well done.

Thanks onlineflyer.
The first shot was using spot exposure which probably picked up on light breast feathers, whereas the second was shot with +1 EV, which might explain the difference.
I think I was lucky with 1/640 for the second shot, I'd normally want more than that for BIF.

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks Des.
I reckon I'm very lucky, with the resident Little Eagles (and other raptors) only a few km away, and they often fly in quite close to have a look...maybe they know me after all the times I've been out there trying to get shots of them

Cheers,
Terry

Cute looking eagle (if an eagle can be cute )
The TC makes this a APSC shot, right?

Yes, they can be cute.
How does it make it an APSC shot?
The lens combination is mounted on the K-1 and shot full frame.
The TC does vignette, but it is a poofteenth, and I've yet to see any shots that don't need some cropping for one reason or another, which makes the vignetting a non-existent issue as far as I'm concerned...so I always shoot full frame on the K-1 with this lens combination.

Cheers,
Terry

What I meant was when you mount the 1.4x TC, the K1 switches to APSC mode, as this is a DA lens. So, you switched to FF mode manually when you shot this. That's what I meant by APSC shot.

Screech Owl In back yard tree

Looks like the Screech Owl had come back to the hollow in my back yard old Oak tree. Here is a shot from today.

OK.
My K-1 has never switched to APSC mode, that I can recall, when I mount the 1.4x TC with the D-FA 150-450.

Cheers,
Terry
