I haven't visited this thread in awhile, plenty of great shots added since!
This old guy is pretty excited, I have the 1.4x TC arriving soon for my DA 300*
Couldn't justify it at $600, found a mint one on eBay for $375 (my best offer accepted) from Robert's Camera.

I had never seen a Baltimore oriole before May 1st, started feeding them jelly and oranges, ended up with a small flock hanging around since then.
Here's a few with the 300, x-posted to the best KP shots thread. All cropped, shot through 2 panes of glass and sometimes through mini blinds too.

Out on the porch yesterday we saw this hawk flying over the valley. I saw it was carrying something and assumed it was nesting material and took a few shots with the K-3/AF 1.7/DA*300 combo.* When I checked out the photos, it turned out to be a snake
Several years ago I saw a red-tail carrying a snake. It slipped out of his grasp and he caught it midair.
No (film) camera in hand at the time of course.

Nice work Bob.

This is the only Baltimore Oriole I've ever seen.

I think this is the chipping sparrow I was looking for earlier. He was hiding in the grass. Boriscleto beat me to the post for this species.

Yeah, certainly not my best work, is it.

In fact, I stole it off the innerwebs.

I feel so ashamed.
