I like the hair on the ears of your squirrels. Ours are quite dull looking by comparison.

Yep agree with above, those squirrels are done well, and those ear hairs make them interesting.

I am almost 100 % certain that this animal is a coyote, not a wolf despite that it was in a known wolf transit area in YNP and drew quite a crowd

1 because I was able to photograph it you really don't get many chances to see let alone photograph a wolf and usually not close up at all

2 it was just calmly walking along

but I am amazed how little cover it took for it to disappear, especially when only a few yards away

the first is crop but otherwise SOOC, others SOOC

You are exploring a local patch - hot day, few birds or even insects around. You're not expecting any surprises, but then you find a new colony of Cliff Swallows setting up under the awning of the visitor centre. I don't think I have even seen Cliff Swallows in that park before. You just never know.

I was in Prince Edward County on Saturday and saw these little guys gathering mud for their nest.
I was perplexed that they would flap their wings like a butterfly while they were picking up the mud.

I found the mud puddle my swallows were using and crouched down about 25ft from it for a few minutes, but none of them would come close while I was there. They were landing and taking the mud from the edge of the pool when I saw them from a distance.

There were some nesting under a culvert near where I take my beaver images in Algonquin Park, The DoT has to put up structures for them to nest when they replace such culverts. They are pretty much ineffective though, maybe these guys picked this place as their new location.

This is happening all over Ontario, all DoT culverts are being doubled in size to alleviate the effects of intense weather cells created by global warming. The problem being despite spending all that money no one checks to see if the Swallows actually will use those structures. The DoT just follows the letter of the law and really doesn't care.

I'll try and get a picture of one. Apparently they've been erected all over Ontario, where ever cliff swallows roosted in culverts.

We don't see nearly as many swallows when we visit your part of the world as we used to 20 years ago. According to the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas cliff swallows are declining in the north but doing OK in the south. I don't know how the birds figured it out but a visitor centre at a nature reserve is a pretty smart location for them.
