Another Superb Fairy-wren (Female).

Had a few days at the RACV Resort Inverloch, I miss these guys already.

Me too. Hooded merganser is my favorite among local waterfowl with wood duck drakes a close second. Among the perching birds rose-breasted grosbeak is my favorite. Another local bird I really like but see once only a decade,if that is the scarlet tanager. Once only on a paleontological tour/trip I saw a western tanager for my first time - it literally took my breath away.

Ashy Tailorbird busy searching for nesting material. Started to use the Pentax HD DA 1.4x TC with my DA* 300mm f4. The exitf info correctly showing 420mm, recall that when I'm shooting with the Kenko Pz-AF 1.4x most of my pictures were only displying 300mm instead of 420mm.

Great shot! The bird is also nicely posed.

Also,
Beautiful deer. Nice job showing the deer in the natural environment without the foliage being too distracting.

Cool - the photo and the dog.
Thanks. This picture is of a female bush dog who's part of a breeding program. The bush dogs are an endangered species, so the breeding program is kind of a big deal. It's been a privilege to photograph the ferocious little doggie.

Another shot of same dog, again with the DA* 300 + 1.4x converter:

That image communicates more of the dog's probable personality, not that you should judge a book by....300mm + 1.4X sounds like a good distance for a taking a picture of that one. I would not be tempted in the least, were I near it, to stroke its head or give a rump-scratching.

Lucky in-focus shot of a mallard coming in for a landing with a DA* 300. Not too often my K-70 manages to focus properly in situations like this.

No, sorry, it just seems like using the insert image function of the forum worked with Flickr, here's the shot since I can't find a way to edit the original post.
