For a common bird, they're really difficult to get nice shots.
Very true.

Started utilizing this lens. Please feel free to advise any suggestions for improvements.

Also if you know any locations which has bird photography hides then please share.

Thanks.

Nice Koala's, joey out of focus.

But I would suggest with the bird, to make it the subject. Centre stage as it would have been a great shot if you had captured the bird in the centre of the frame and then cropped.

Have a look at the photos the guys in this thread have taken, most are amazing and get to learn your own style based on the work of these masters.

Cheers and welcome to the thread.

Not sure about bird hides, they are the first places the birds avoid
Suitable locations probably depends a bit on where you are, but I'd suggest the Western Treatment Plant.
Not hard to spend a large part of the day there looking along the various roads (Pt Wilson Rd, Beach Rd, Pousties Rd etc) as well as along the foreshore.
Lots of raptors as well as small birds.
It's also possible to obtain a pass and key to access the locked areas, which opens up many more opportunities.

Cheers,
Terry

I thought I would come on here and confess to buying it.

Should be with me next week, all being well.
Looking forward to seeing great shots from this lens.

Thanks Terry.

What do you mean by special pass and keys?
I am in South East. But will surely try your suggested places.

As always a great set well worth savoring.

A plea (not a criticism). Until the contest(s) are over, spread your images over several posts,

Nice shots Gary, you are going to need a counter weight on the other side of your vehicle for that A*1200.

I have not posted any photos in here for awhile.
K3 and HD 55-300. A much lighter alternative to the k-1 and 50-500.
