Pine siskin are a North American finch. So no, they are not in Australia

They are completely separate from the Eurasian siskin, which are also not endemic to Australia (though may be present due to the pet trade).

Hi Boris

We do have a lot of different finches in Australia

Where do you go for warblers in TO?
I go to Pelee and Rondeau parks in the Spring, local patches and sometimes Presquile in the fall. Never been to Cape May but there is a Cape May Warbler and I was wondering whether that was what you had there. They are much brighter and easier to identify in the Spring, duller and harder in the late summer/ fall. My old Peterson bird guide has a page of "confusing fall warblers" and the Cape May is one of them.

Here's a spring bird from 2016 - the only reasonable shot I have of one.

Well, first sunshine for a bit. But windy, very windy, almost had white caps on the wetlands 'lake'.

But I did manage to find another Spotted Pardalote 'nest'.

Male on lookout:

Not a great lookout mind you as I was sitting less than 2 metres away.

Male doing a little housekeeping on the way in:

Male doing a Cuckoo imitation:

As you can see, the entrance is less than 50mm in diameter.
But there is room inside for both birds plus chicks.

That's awesome, Mike, but where exactly were you standing when you took that shot?

On a hill in a campsite. It's quite a heavy crop as well.

I believe what I had was a Cape May. We have quite a large number of them here for the last couple of weeks.
When the warblers are in their transition color, I found them difficult to ID too.
