I have captured many favorite images with the DA560.

Sad to see another Pentax wildlife photographer jumping ship. But in a certain way I can understand it. Pentax should communicate to us the further strategy concerning new APS-C camera and long lenses in much more open way.

Anyway... good luck and keep posting your shots

There was a slight rain delay today with my hummingbird "stop the wings with my flash" quest. Only took a few shots, don't want to stress them when their soaked....

In this video bird stands almost still for few seconds, then sinks down almost perpendicularly and then flies away. I was not ready for this. By chance I had attached 500mm PF lens. Pointed the camera at it and recorded it.

For those who are contemplating a 560, go get it. Even if doesn't capture BIF, it sure will give the owner satisfaction to out gun puny 150-500/500 or 200-500
Got a new K70 and I feel the IQ and performance better than K-5iis

Here are some from my weekend outing.

Common swamphen

Grey-headed swamphen (cropped to show off the sharpness)

Greater painted snipe (male - yes one of the few species where the female is more colourful)

Citrine wagtail

Two from yesterday, shot with an A* 300/4 on a K-5iis. The bird was a good distance, so these are heavily cropped. I believe it is a Cooper's hawk.

I haven't used the lil'Bigma since January, so I took it to Montezuma NWR this morning...

An almost 100% crop...

Bufflehead, Canvasback, Redheads, Ruddy Ducks,Gadwall, Northern Shovelers, Ring-necked Ducks, American Wigeon, American Coots, most too far for photos...

The only Teal I saw...

An unusually large group of GBH all in the same pool...

I just picked up an FA* 300mm f/4.5 for a great price. I'm amazed at how sharp this lens is. Just a few test shots from the lens.
