Busy background in this photo, but first time I've ever shot a red crossbill that wasn't in the top of a tree.

went to my first Wings and Wetlands Festival in Great Bend Kansas over the week end

Wings & Wetlands Birding Festival – Kansas Wetlands Education Center

really put the DFA 150-450mm to work

and except for predictable OP error at times, no problems

The first and third images are especially worthy.

That's a fine capture of a spectacular NA bird. Too bad you didn't have time to put on a fence-post filter.

Busy background in this photo,
The color of the bird makes it stand out just enough.

I absolutely love this shot.

Who say 200mm is too long for portrait? Well, what about 400MM? I snuck into a photo shoot from a distance at the local botanical garden. Shot with a K-5iis + K 200/2.5 coupled to a K T6-2X converter.

Crosspost from Teleconverter and Adapter club

muskrat or beaver? I couldn't see the tail.

He was hiding under the bridge/board walk along a park trail.

Looks like a beaver to me. A muskrat, besides being smaller, has a smaller nose relative to its face.
