The Japanese Crane, shooting at the Asahiyama's Zoo too. It's always in my mind to capture this crane when I'm at Hokkaido. Sad that didn't manage to get it in the field as the place (Kushiro Shitsugen National Park) that I'm planning to visit having the heavy snow on that day

These are nice, full of details and the pose of the two birds is great, one looking slightly arrogant and the other just amazed (obviously projection by me, but still it lends them character). Well done.

These blokes are the masters of disguise, they often pull in their feathers so they look thin and then shape their body to look like a broken branch.
I've been within about 3m of them and other people have come up and asked what I'm photographing, and they still can't see the bird after I try to point it out to them
