These were taken from my car with a K-5/Sigma 800mm F5.6 APO EX/RRS BH-55/Kirk window mount. I have now focus adjusted the lens to my K-5.

You captured something special. did you capture the porcupine?
The porcupine was on a tree and quite far away. With the ditch separating me and it, I can't get any closer. I got some images but not of the best quality.

An exercise in shallow depth of field and bokeh, using a Tokina RMC 400mm f/5.6.
Aberrations seem quite decently controlled for an old lens.

KP • DA TC1.4x + DA55-300PLM @ 420 • around half size image crop • ISO200 • f/9.5 • 1/200s

My wife called that there's a grey goose! Had to react fast cause I didn't see it instantly. So only one shot using back button focus with center focus point. I'm a bit surprised that I got an image I'd like to show.

Nice!

To me, that's one of those images that the longer you look at it, the more you like it.

I agree. Sometimes one shot is all one needs.

I finally kicked off the lens sample thread for the SMC Pentax 135-600mm F6.7

If anyone has photos they've made with this lens, it would be great if you could contribute to that thread.

Thank you for this nice comment! - I appreciate it. It tells me, it's always worth sharing images on Pentax Forums. Guess this image will be one of my favorites in the coming years - a shot not planned and not composed, it just happened like a reflex.

Pentax K1-II with DA 300mm f4.0. Good for keeping distance from dangerous wildlife.

My initial impressions of the lens. Tack sharp in the center. Autofocus is good too. Maybe rated 9 for APSc and 8 for FF. Some chromatic aberration even visible on APSc images. Even at f8.0 No purple fringe. I can see why Pentax says this is not a full frame lens. Definitely not a * quality lens on FF. I got it as a refurbished lens from Ricoh for a great price. All in all happy with it at the price I got it for. This image is heavily cropped. Love the ability to do that with the images from a K1.

Looks like that lens could also be used as a bazooka, if needed. Thx for the new thread, looking forward to seeing future posts there.

Young Red-tailed Hawk on our Leslie Street Spit walk this morning. Lots of social isolation on the way out, getting more crowded on the way back.
