Australian brushturkey - Wikipedia

@jcdoss: I'll see your somewhat attractive guinea fowl and raise you an Australian brush turkey.

Some with yellow wattles, sometimes a bright violet...

American Bald Eagle SMC PENTAX-FA 1:4.5-5.6 80-320MM

Quite soft at full extension of the lens. Severely cropped. We are at quite a distance. I have been studying photography lately, and I wasn't afraid to shoot most of my shots manually today, so that's an improvement.

Not sure I'll ever get a better picture of this moment, so I'll probably X-post this image on several threads.

Another shot of the Juvenile New Holland Honeyeater.
This time with K-3 II and DA* 300 + 1.4x TC, handheld. Acceptably sharp wide open.
See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

Thank. I was really happy to be at the camera at that moment. Unfortunately, I missed a second "kiss" a few minutes later. It happens very quickly.

Great capture! I have a pair which do this, however he always blocks my shot by turning his head or standing in front of her. So many near misses.

Thanks. Problems with capturing that moment are too many to list. You must be at the camera and at the ready, and the moment is a moment, comes and goes in a twinkling so if you don't anticipate with the shutter set to multi-exposure you missed it.

BTW: I really like the chipping sparrow. The Tammy 400 f4 was the best tele I used in the Film Era. If you haven't tried, it works very well with a Pentax 1.4XL converter, and reasonably with a 2XL. A caveat: the opening at the back of the lens is a bit tight for the rubber no-scratch ring on the end of the converters that projects into the lens.

I have the Tamron Flat Field 1.4X for the 65B which works very well, though the sloppy design of the Tamron aperture stop down linkage cases some exposure variations. The lens seems to like the Tamron-F MC 4 Pz and DA HD Pentax converters also. I actually did catch my male cardinal feeding it’s mate earlier this spring but I shot the photo with my Super Takumar 300/4 on my K5.so it isn’t as detailed or sharp as I’d like. I was just playing around with the old lens to use it.
