House Wren

There are quite a few families I've seen this year.
This one's got at least three young in the nest.

Thank you so much for your input. I love the DA300 I hope Ricoh will update with the modern SDM and rounded blades. I use it for flowers and occasional landscapes and nightscapes too

I don't think so. We have clear blue sky this morning The moon picture is from Feb. I've been trying not to go out except for the essentials since March. But shooting bald eagles is essential, no?

I go out as much as I can and the nice thing is that when doing photography, unless it is people shots, is it is usually best when others are around. At my favorite spots and times to go there likely isn't any within a mile of me and at the very worst some one might be within a few hundred yards, unless one of the county sheriff officers stops by to see what I am doing.

Weevil, I've been off PF for awhile and just now getting caught up - when I saw this photo, my first thought was "what a great hood ornament"!! Well captured!

The Powerful Owl is an eastern seaboard resident of Australia. It gets to 60cm of length and this one clutches the leftovers of its catch - a ring-tailed possum. It is said that cats and small foxes have been carried off in the past. You can see the possum's tail wrapped around the branch, the rear two legs, and dangling bits the owl didn't care for. K-1, FA*300 f4.5 with the Pentax HD 1.4x TC.

Be warned, it's only the very very start of the Pardalote season

And damn you, I'm yet to see an owl in the wild.

You need to get to a river. My wife has seen three in the same tree!
