Was at the community garden today and saw this flower...

Then I saw this wren.....

and being the ideas man I am..... I thought I'd get a photo of the wren on the flower..... so.... brought up my bird phone app on my phone.... got the wren music happening..... and placed the phone at the base of the flower..... and waited....

mmmm.... that didn't work..... so moved the phone up into the flower stem......

mmm... still no luck.... will put the phone up higher up on a stick so wren has to land soon on the flower.....

mmm.... can't give in to a Wren just yet.... will lean the stick right on the flower.... haha goto get it this time.....

Ok.... Wren one.... man zero.

I might have to show some wren'spect.

Doubling up

The lens used here is technically not a 300mm but rather the Pentax 67 200mm f 4.0, a lens often noted for its sharpness. (In some instances I have used the 67/200 with cropping in preference to a medium format 300mm lens.) What I am using here is somewhat of a jerry rigged setup. I installed the Pentax Rear Converter-A 645 2X on the 645Z, put the Pentax Adapter 645 for 67 Lens on the converter, and then installed the Pentax 67 200mm f 4.0. thus creating, in effect, a 400mm medium format lens at the cost of at least one stop of light. I am showing a few snaps with this setup, and looking forward to finding some suitable distant objects such as birds or my usual herd of deer in order to let me compare the results with earlier shots with 300mm and 400mm medium format lenses. At the moment, it is possible to assert that the notable sharpness of the 67/200 has remained intact along with its commendable 150cm MFD. Comments and questions are invited.

Hi Craig - I happened to take a pic of a Nanchang CJ6 a couple of weeks ago which I posted in the aircraft spotting thread. The shape of the engine cowl seems a close match and the dihedral of the wings is very close as well. Not sure the earlier Dauntless had this wing shape. If the aircraft call sign can be discerned then it can be googled and the identification made.
