There are lots of images on my Flickr feed that aren't 300mm....
K-3 and DA 55-300 PLM. The rest are on my flicker feed, click on any image to get there.

A few taken at 300mm...

The set up, not mine, but I kinda borrowed it.

Really nice photograph of the Red-breasted nuthatch Norm. Great light. Those little buggers don't hold still for very long :-)

Beautifully done Gary! I especially like the Meadow Pipit on the post. Excellent isolation of subject.

The tripod is an essential piece of photographic equipment; it can be deployed in a variety of ways.

Hooded Mergansers

Saw a flock of these while walking the dog a couple days ago. Went back yesterday morning with "The Bazooka", Sigma 500mm f4.5. I was hoping someone walking a dog would chase them over to my side of the pond for some close ups but no such luck.

I got fairly decent pics of them last year but this year has been a bust so far. Reminds us to make the most of the opportunities we do get. These are from yesterdays' walk after finding no Hoodies in their usual spot:

It was going well until someone with a smartphone thought she could walk right up to the bird - it was fairly tame, but not that tame. By the way if you see or photograph a bird in Canada with visible markings like this (leg bands, neck ring....) you can report it here:

How to report a banded bird - Canada.ca

It takes you to the American bird banding lab so maybe you can also use it in the US.

Update: I heard back that the bird is a female, banded in New York (State?) in June 2016.

Two images of a female common kestrel (torenvalk) both taken with the M300/4 * lens. We have a bunch of these around our house and this one allowed me to get to around ten metres before she flew off.

These pictures show both skill & understanding in the use of these lenses, and the knowledge of the subjects. There's a little luck involved, but mostly it's hard work getting into position at the right time.
