When I was looking for something special using the KP and DFA150-450 plus DA TC1.4x, I found it ... or at least I associated it.

E.T.'s right hand!

Urubu is now one of my favourite French words - not one I've come across before...

Cool! it's really a phonetic-fun word to pronounce... Not sure about its origins tho!

Here's another shot from yesterday. The Snow geese are transiting now...

Some more from last weeks Flinders Ranges

K1 and DFA 150-450

DFA 150-450 only at 150 for this (0.3s hand held though)

These Orb spiders string webs between bushes.... they tend to make grown men run screaming waving their arms around like a girl. I'm known for being a girl at times.... mostly when distracted. The orb grows to 1 meter in size.... in my nightmares. MFD on DFA 150-450 to make it look scary... this one was legless... 2 missing.

KP and F*300/4.5 (Lazy walking kit)

KP and Sigma 150-500 (trying a mates lens on the KP)

.......
Love those bird shots, Noel. Especially the closeup of the male red-capped robin. and is that the female with the feathers fluffed out to the side?

Nice red sunset, too!!

KP and 100-300 Sigma- which I could not get a "sharp" picture with, switched to my son's Pentax 55-300 plm and then the plm with 1.4x Pentax extender.
What a difference with the Pentax, super "little" lens in my book.

First the Sigma-cropped, then the plm with extender SOOC, and cropped.

Last Sunday had a birding session with termy, he was kind to let me test his DA560 and he didn't shoot a single shot even though this Banded Woodpecker is so nice looking, kudos to him.

Looks like AF adjustment may be necessary with your Sigma 100-300 (is it the f/4 version?)

A couple days ago I went out during a steady rain, and found a bald eagle stoically braving the storm. I passed by my feathered friend twice at the same spot during my travels, about 30 minutes apart.

Tamron 400/4 65B + Pentax A 2x-L converter, resting the lens on the top of the passenger seat of my car, shooting in portrait orientation. Pushing my luck a bit with 1/350s shutter. Not especially sharp results, but shooting an eagle 40 yards away with 800mm worth of glass results in a fair amount of detail, simply due to the magnification.
