May I ask how you created this image, e.g. with a mount, or astrotracer, and what kind of shutter speed?
I'd love to do astrophotography as well one day another reason why I want to upgrade to the K-3 II in the long game.
So far my attempts with image stitching have not been very pleasant to look at
I've created this with my equatorial mount (Meade LXD75 that I upgraded/repaired with stepper motors). I took 90odd 30 second exposures at ISO2000 and then stacked these in AstroPixelProcessor; the stacking creates a relatively noise-free image that can then be processed to show more detail. The astrophotography group has much more information on this addictive form of photography. There's a member of there, MossyRocks, who uses astrotracer with a 400mm lens to create an amazing image of M31, the Andromeda galaxy, so you can do astro with that as well. I personally use that only for shorter focal lenghts, like 50mm. Give it a try with a fast fifty (I've used my M50/1.4 to create the image below (apologies for this image being taken at only 50mm)) and you'll be pleasantly surprised what can be done with minimal equipment (K-50, M50/1.4, tripod and astrotracer).

Nice shot Walt. According to this Heron Island bird list there are both the Capricorn sub-species of silvereye and a different species, the Ashy-bellied White-eye (Zosterops citrinellus). They are similar, but going by the Australian Bird Guide, it looks like the latter (because of the yellow lores).

Wonderful looking shots of a wonderful looking bird.
Thanks Swip. They are a very attractive bird.

A few weeks ago I went to the park during the birds siesta time, got a little bored and may have spent some time scattering 30 or 40 'apples' around.
Spoken like a birder who wants to encourage silvereyes and honeyeaters.

And Wrens and Finches (Gold, Green and Red-browed). Can be a busy bush.

Excellent capture of a beautiful and interesting bird. Owls always look so enigmatic and exotic to me. I'm also happy that the nesting was successful.

Just a mediocre shot - but it's the first bear I've seen in the wild this year... K-50 and A400/5.6

It's a good shot. I wish I could get something similar, but I'm afraid of bears.

I really should keep my FA* 300mm mounted on a body.

Every time I see a flamingo, parrot, motmot or other interesting bird fly past I have to go dig the 300mm out of the camera bag, mount it, then go running back to find my subject has disappeared. I'm so unorganized!

All the pics posted on here make me feel shame.....

The key to bear photography is getting close... but not too close

Critters in the backyard.

Taken with F*250-600mm F5.6 on a K3 while the setup was resting on my knee (too lazy to get the tripod).
