Second time I'm getting the FA 80-320, after selling the first copy last summer. I have other, less wobbly, lenses in the 70-200 range, but the extra reach on this does come in handy. at 320mm

Beautiful sharp Capture. Not so much white on the wing tip as I see up here....southern variation? Juvenile? That is a very fast shutter speed you have used there.

Thanks.
The sub species in this neck of the woods don't have quite as much white on the wings as those to the Nth.
The shutter speed was simply the result of the ISO setting and the subject suddenly popping onto a perch out in good light.
Normally if could be sure the bird would stay put while I adjusted settings, I would have used a lower ISO. This was the sort of conditions where TAv mode might the best choice.

Cheers,
So it (less white) is a regional variation - interesting to know. Re shutter speed - I'll take a high shutter speed over high ISO anyway. Especially when using that Big Boy lens!!
