I took these on a trip to a fairly local military training area.

Wow!
That is quite some details you got. Excellent work.
What was the exposure time and F stop?
A twitch of the eyelash will trigger horrible vibration of the setup I imagine.
Thanks. Exposure time was 1/250s @ISO400 and F5 - which has to be multiplied with the factor of 3 due to the two converters.
The tripod is quite stable and the Dietmar Nill gimbal does a good job to allow me to breathe during capture of the image series

He comes from time to time around the feeders... Sometimes he gets his lunch too! That's mother Nature!

Buse à queue rousse / Red-Tailed Hawk [Buteo jamaicensis] - (Juvenile)

The hawk was on a telephone line and suddenly dived into the underlying ditch.

Original photo wasn't that good. High ISO, Backlit conditions with purple fringing. I removed the tel line in the back and fixed fringing in PP. Medium crop to better fill the frame.
Pretty happy with the result. I tried B&W conversion, but fade colors look better imo.

Wow - that shot is certainly worth the PP effort. Were you burst shooting? Amazingly sharp considering it had just started diving.

Good job - you would not have had a lot of depth of field to work with there to catch the dive so well in focus.

Pentax K-1mkii & D FA150-450 at Tanzawa mountains Kanagawa.
Great shots! The only wild monkeys I've seen in Japan were the "snow monkeys" at Yudanaka in Nagano. The only other furry animals I can recall seeing were a squirrel at Enoshima and a Deer at Nikko (and of course the many deer in Nara). I thought I saw a Tanuki in Yamagata, but I am pretty sure that it was actually a fat and furry stray bob-tailed cat.

Thank you for your comment, RobG.
You are lucky to have seen a Tanuki (raccon dog).
This is a picture of a raccoon dog that came to my backyard.
