Great shots - that doesn't look like a bird that would show up very often in U.K.

The light was good for a range of duck this morning, and a combination of the ice and abundant food brought them close to shore.

The males and female nested there in the tree, I spent most of the time following them from a hide from the time they picked its location to the time the young left the nest. The best part was I was there when they left the nest.

Thank you! I got to photograph Japanese Kingfishers a couple of times - in Kamakura and Kanazawa. Not great photos though.
