A few pictures from my first time out of the house for a few days after getting Shingles over Christmas. K3iii/FA*600mm F4 ED[IF]/RRS BH-55/Eckla window mount.
Sorry to hear about the shingles, Gary.

Excellent quality captures here, as usual.

Do you really need a 300mm lens when a traffic camera will do?

This was sent to me by someone knowing I shoot birds with a very long lens.
The owl most likely wanted wanted to sit on the pole...

Reminds me of my owl shots. The owl had a favourite pole, all I had oto do was wait for him to come and go.

Taken with my 60-250, and people say you need a fast lens and top of the line AF to get such shots, Funny, when I've been right beside people with the so called "optimized sets ups" they don't do any better than I did with my "slow focusing" 60-250. This day I was last in first out. I have no idea what they were doing with their birding Nikon and Canon set ups. They were so convinced I was messing with them they demanded to see my images, once they saw them they got real quiet.

Part of the reason I say, "if you aren't getting good images already, they aren't going to get better because of fast AF or long fast lenses."

Seems like a case of old age and treachery will overcome youth and exuberance!

It was a beautiful afternoon here so I took my K1ii and DA* 300 out to a nature preserve. I also had a 2.0x TC and 1.4x TC that I used on some shots but I can't remember which ones. Here were some shots from the trip.

Eastern Phoebe

Red-Headed Woodpecker

Saw this beautiful Little Blue Heron through the branches during a small walk in a wetland shrub trail in Hollywood, Florida. Not seen much else...
