I'm not sure that they work that way.

Good for you. I have been quite happy with my copy. As mentioned before it is big and heavy, but I've been pleased with the results. I also have a K1, which I haven't yet tried my Sigma on.

I think you'll enjoy your new lens.
Curious, does yours have the modified mount for clearance on the k1? Doesnt look like this has had it done. My k1 is getting serviced at this time so I can't try it. Wondering if it's just real close or it has to be changed.

I've only used my Penta K5 and K10D with my Sigma 150-500. There is, from what I understand a clearance issue...with the K1 and that lens. I've just used my ASP-C sensor cameras...as with the ASP-C bodies...the 500mm end ...is the equivalent of closer to a 750mm reach...again from what I understand. The K1, being a full frame, from what I've read...means the 150-500 is a 500mm reach.

I'm not an optical expert, but this is my understanding. I could be wrong.

Boy is that a sharp photo. If it wasn't for the red eye, that bird camouflages itself well into the topography.

Thanks, I was just wondering if you mounted it to see how close it is. I also may have misread and thought u had k1 and maybe it was k10. I may get an aspc of some type. K5ii, K3 maybe. K5ii are inexpensive and used k3s are about the price of a new da converter. Thanks.

I have a K10D, Km, K5 and K1.
I like the K5 series. Mine has been a good camera, except at the beginning when it would freeze up. I had it repaired by Pentax Canada, and it has been excellent ever since. I bought the K5 new, back in 2011. Hmmnn...12 years now.

I still can't believe it's 2000 anything. 🙂

I always wondered how these bridges performed. This is a sharp photo. Panasonic seems to make good bridges...

The FZ30 lens is very sharp and has a bigger sensor (1/1.8") compared to other compact cameras, specially at that time. It was my first digital camera and big purchase, 1K back then in Mexico, it was around 500 in the US.

Thanks for the info !
If I had to buy a mid-range bridge nowadays, I would consider Panasonic for sure... Before going to DSLR (with Pentax in 2012), I had a Canon S3, which was okay, but I reached its limits pretty early. Panasonic also has some interesting lenses with constant f2.8 apertures that can make a big difference fir birding.
