I assume yours is the Version 2 os model white letters only . Can you use the lens with the Nikon TC 1.7 would be nearly the same as 500/4.5 or are they not compatible with sigma lenses

We are looking forward to your results new TC;s are so much better now this would be a great combo.
Yes, V2 but V3 is due out soon with more improvements. The TC14EII and TC20EIII are stellar TCs however the TC17EII has a dubious reputation. You need to file off a metal lug on these TCs to make them compatible with Sigma lenses (an easy 10 min job).

Norm - I just love that Chickadee, superb timing and the motion blur gives a great sense of the moment. Interesting crop too (it looks like you used BorderFX - which may have covered part of the wing).

Sorry - can't agree with A3 NR - it's crap IMHO (and I am a strong A3 proponent - except for the NR), when compared to any of the dedicated NR software (I use Topaz Denoise) which are honestly on a different planet !

A few more from Saturdays shoot at Homebush Bay wetlands. The first wren was taken with Frank's A*400 + 1.4 TC (a really nice combo), the others with my Sigma 50-500. The last photo is of a Clamorous Reed Warbler (I think).

Cheers,
Greg.

Yes, the wife has been pushing for Topaz Denoise, you may have just pushed me over the top... (it's all your fault). It did do a pretty nice job on these though, I've yet to encounter noise it couldn't handle, in this type of situation. Situations where there is more detail in the bokeh, it's maybe less efficient.

Lovely wrens Greg !

Norm - Denoise, Nik's Dfine ( I used this before and don't know why I didn't update it as it has more control than Denoise), Noise Ninja (tried this too - also v. good), Imagenomic's Noiseware, Neat Image etc. - may have trial periods (I like the results from Denoise but find the Topaz system a little unwieldily to launch - not sure if the others are any better in that regard though). Blame me if the wife gets stroppy !
