Thanks, Stan. Right--I caught him in his morning grooming.

Excellent! Quite a hungry looking family. Modern medicine should study the chemicals in nesting bird parents to derive new anti anxiety/stress medicines

Ha ha! The photo gear was the least of it.
Here is my 9 year old granddaughter shooting partner and a couple of her shots with the Tamron 70-300.
That's wonderful Larry ! How great to be able to teach and communicate with your grandchildren like that. She looks like she is really having fun - excellent shots too !

We actually had some sun this morning.

the picture of the cardinal reminded me...do you ever see bald cardinals...trying to figure out if they are old or have some type of medical issue...they really are ugly cause their body is normal but head looks so tiny with no hair

Yes, I have encountered that. I have photos in the archives somewhere but didn't call attention to it (pot/kettle sort of thing. you know ;~) .

my pathetic attempt to try to infiltate myself in the pond area to get closer to the wood ducks...i had my da 300 with the k5...i wore a gille suit and for those who don't know what that is it looks like this Amazon.com: Deluxe Ghillie Suit: Sports & Outdoors sat motionless why the mosquitoes ate me alive ...this lone wood duck knew something was up but it didn't realize until a flock of them flew in and immediately flew away...@#$% ducks...it reinforces to me that i would have nothing if i didn't have the q because these guys are so skittish...oh well at least i tried...back to the q but wish these guys were around in the middle of the day when there is more light

My new GBH friend!

All great shot everyone ! I love those shots of the birds at the Miami beach + waves... wonderful light and colors !

Yesterday evening, my new GBH friend was at its grooming / resting station...
this time, I managed to get closer a bit, and used my Sigma 120-400 with a K-5

at one time he crooked itself and I was wondering what was going on...

I realized he had some stomach cramps! (wouashhh! sorry for sensible hearths or thos who are watching whil taking a lunch lol!)

At one time, I saw him (or her ? not sure how to differentiate the gender) getting the fix...

he closed the eyes and then its head was falling down... may be a bit tired of his long day hunting...
ready to spend a good night of sleep!

Weevil

p.s. How do you insert from Flickr with the footer like this ?
IMGP9687 by pearsaab, on Flickr
IMGP9687 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

What I do now, I have to go to a photo, then I choose See all sizes, then I right-click on the pic and chose "copy image URL", then I use the "inset image" button on the PF editor...
There should ba an easier way of inserting images in a thread ? thanks
