Hey thanks, Stan, Larry & Derek! I did a lot of trompin' for that one but he posed patiently as I fumbled with the AF. I think it's a Palm Warbler.

Can hardly wait for our upcoming camping trip so I can get out with my 150-500. Trying to get my hands on a Pentax 300mm 2.8 AF, very expensive ! Ya'll have some nice photos up I'll try to get some of mine up in the next few weeks. I'm really beginning to get the hang of my K5 what a nice difference up from my K7 with my longer lenses. But I don't think any of my images are up to par with what Ya'll have posted, I will keep trying. I'm disabled so its kind of tough to get out as much as I would like. I would like to get to know what works best and I'm sure I can gain some knowledge from this group. My name is Bob and I look forward to learning what I can.

Welcome, Bob! Yeah, the K-7 > K-5 jump is something, isn't it? I do do a lot of hiking after the birds because I need the exercise but sometimes I think I might do better if I stayed in one place and and let them come to me. ;~)

Nice set, Amy! That Kingfisher was worth the effort I'd say.

Looks great I think you have got the hang of it.
Thanks , I'm still having trouble Nailing focus ,Once I've reached Hyperfocal distance the Tiniest amount of turn on the Focus Ring can put the image out of Focus , Practice is what's needed I guess. That image was on my 2nd outing with the Tamron. but I have some pretty bad News , I may have to return the lens back to it's owner , The base of the lens is pretty badly warpped.

once placing the PKA adaptel mount on the lens , turning it will not lock it into place and the Adaptel mount can undo itself at any time if I try and change the orientation of the camera from Landscape to Portrait by loosening the Collar , this happened several times and the camera dropped of the lens with the TC attached.. scared the crap out of me.. :-(

That is a bummer @disco_owner. Is that part one you could unscrew and possibly tap with a hammer to see if it can be straightened out?
