This works for the web, but I wouldn't print it. Cropped to 1200x1200 and scaled to 800x800.
You maybe right about the web. However, I like it. From time to time I do square prints.

Thanks. I wouldn't think twice about printing square, it's the resolution I'm sceptical of.

Great eagle shots! The pictures have a certain depth to them separate from depth of field. Don't know what to call it but you and that DA 300 get some sharp pictures!!

With the death toll of wintering Eagles in Utah up to 50 or so reported birds and more being brought into wildlife refuges regularly these folks are in short supply. I managed to find a couple two days ago so I was pretty excited.

This year has been much better for you than for me, but I am glad that last year was better for you than this one because I am definitely in the same boat. You've still shot some great stuff this year though!!

Check out this local refuges page for some photos of what happens to these poor birds. Awful.

Personally I prefer it offset - the sky in the bottom left of the centred image doesn't really add to it.

I took these the same day as the photos in my last post on the previous page, these birds were about 15 miles apart. I had to shoot them handheld because I didn't think there was any way it was going to wait for a tripod set-up. I was able to watch it eat the fish after a short flight to a different dead tree snag.
