Larry, your description is interesting - they have the colouring of a dove, a small crest somewhat like a parrot, and the barred plumage and wings typical of a raptor. In size, they range from 35 - 46 centimetres, and they are "largely insectivorous, crashing into tree tops to take phasmids (leaf insects)", to quote my Birds of Australia Field Guide. If you look closely at some of the shots, you can see an insect in its beak or pinned against the branch.
