They nest in a tree halfway down the block.
Sad that up until last year when I started to learn to shoot telephoto I didn't even know they were there
They have probably been there a few seasons.
Photography has opened my eyes to many things I previously just walked past.

SO sad. Hope someone effects a rescue effort.
Someone was actually able to help to bird out. About 95% of the rope is gone and it seems to be hunting again.

F-22 Raptor has a nice grey finish like the rest of the F series items. Looks as though my bird of prey subjects have shifted due to other circumstances.

Great shots, and you don't have to change your website name if you shoot those raptors

Cross posted from post your photos.

K-3
DA* 60-250 + HD DA 1.4 TC

It was -14 today and a cold -14 so it was cold, but that keeps the birds busy eating enough to keep warm

The Starling... back again today... there was a blackish purple one with them we assume was a male...

A Downy Woodpecker, not a great shot, but today's shot, they all can't be show stoppers..

Mr. and Mrs Purple Finch...

A couple of active chickadee images...

The Star of the day was the nuthatch...

Tomorrow the feeding starts bright and early... be there or be square.

Beautiful exposures..

Got mine (HD TC 1.4X) and work well with DA* 300 and FA* 600mm

Shot this resident with my FA 300mm & Promaster 1.7X converter. Just missed getting all his wing in on the second shot. I hate when that happens I have been contemplating getting the new 1.4X but this old promaster 1.7 really surprises me sometimes.

Never more true words spoken. I have always been outdoorsy and thought I was pretty observant. Well after taking on the photo bug I am seeing things that I did not before, actually quite cool. Being in my late fifties though its a little hard on the eyes.

Thanks Frogfish, surprised you know of the Mangrove Pitta in SG. It is indeed a very friendly bird, some people even use mobile phone cam to shoot.
Ha ha. Then he is very friendly as well as beautiful

I'm planning a 8-9 day trip to Fraser Hill & Taman Negara for either this April or in the Autumn, so have been on Bird Forum a lot checking up on the area. It was supposed to be this March but I'm off to the 4,000M mountains of Gaoligongshan and Tengchong (over-looking the Burmese border) later this week (so excited - one of China's bird 'hot-spots' !) and my wife will kill me if I don't spread the trips out a bit

BTW if anyone is interested I've got a great condition Pentax-F SMC x1.7 AF Adapter for sale (not put it up here yet so PM me for details). Yes that is the legendary TC that converts MF lenses into semi-AF lenses Works fantastically well on the DA*300/4.
