One of my favorite local families. I visit them a couple times a week. Mother is sitting on eggs right now and yells at me when I get too close, but they know and tolerate me pretty well

Nice. They are just showing up here, not on the nests yet.

I am again & again amazed by many of the images posted in the group ! I was able to purchase new one of the discontinued Tamron 1.4 MC4 tele converters and these are a few of the first images I was able to get in combination of my K5IIs, !.4 TC and Sigma 150-500 OS HSM not Pentax * quality but not bad IMOHO ! Very little PP, Please let me have CC ? I am sure in LR5 I could work the images but this is pretty much out of the camera.

With a little tone mapping the DA* 300 makes a nice star burst. Or headlamp burst...

Thanks Travis, Photoshop was used to manually blend the images.

That's pretty cool looking. It looks like 1960's vintage but I'm no expert

Very nice use of the "Star" effect. Almost looks like it could have come from a DA 21. We need more train photo's on this thread. They are definitely lacking.

Bob, that last one looks like he wants to take your camera away from you! Nice shots.

Pretty good indeed !
Yes you could probably improve them a bit in LR5, especially if you shoot RAW.

If you have original RAW file you can send me, I'd show you what can be done in LR5 (just PM me and we'll work something)
Sylvain

p.s. you can download LR5 and have a 30 days free trial !

Went out yesterday trying to Shoot a Townend Warbler that was observed near Montreal (Pointe-Calumet) last weekend.... but though luck, it did not showed up... ;(
Since I was always in the same small area, I did not saw lots of thing, so I shooted something different with my long telephoto :

The surrounding fields were covered by Poison Ivy... BEWARE ! All parts of this plant is toxic, not only the leaves...

These are more kinda macro shots, but with a long lense (FA* 250-600)

Very nice shots yourself Weevil, I appreciate the info on LR I have been using it for years and I always (usually always) shoot in RAW +Jpeg I just was so happy with the Sigma 150-500 and the Tamron 1.4 Converter and how very well the combination works and so far with every lens I have used with the K5 or the K5IIs however the AF does work better with the K5IIs. Appreciate you feedback ! Also I'm not sure is this lens club for Pentax 300mm* lenses only ? I hope not as I don't own any right now., Cheers, Bob

Thanks !
no this thread was originally created for the f* 300mm f4.5, but it has quickly changed for any 300mm and longer lenses... they just have to be mounted on a Pentax body !
