The evening wind down the mountains made an interesting wave pattern on the lake.

I should use my "swiss army knife" Tamron 23A 60-300mm more, it's a good lens IMO (see rose pic posted in adaptall club thread that I took en route to checking on Family Gull).

The gull chicks grow fast, already showing their juvenile feathers, and looking like they need more room than the chimney real estate.

Mallard?

Is this a Mallard family? May be Blue Wing Teal?

Birds of a different feather. Taken at Fairchild AFB a few weeks ago with a K3 and a rented Sigma 150-500. I'm a little slow with PP

If I had to guess, it looks more like a Black Mallard hen than anything else. Too dark to be a green head but then again I have not met every duck.

I would take that photo in a heartbeat. A huge Barred Owl flew right past me on my hike this weekend, but settled into the branches where I didn't have a clear view. The trees were so dense I only got a glimpse of it when it flew away. It was by far the biggest Owl I've ever seen. Would have loved to capture that one.
