Only with the DA*60-250 so I hope everyone will forgive me for posting it here, does it count if I was wishing it 300mm?
Nice catch.

Eagle photo that I forgot about for the Winter.
Fantastic shot Travis! You really forgot about that one??? The only thing wrong with it is it has a thin halo. You can fix that in Photoshop elements by going right down to the pixels on the edge of the bird. I'm jealous of the photo so I have to find something about it. ha ha... I see a lot of people who posting bird photos on flickr with that halo effect. Expensive Canon and Nikon lenses are not immune from this effect except maybe the new fluorite lenses.

I find shooting at +0.07 or +1.0 over for birds against a blue sky and the sun behind you eliminates the halo. Our Siggie 500 primes are good lenses. It's also a better idea to sharpen the RAWs in Lightroom so not to produce or enhance the halo.

Good shooting Travis.

Just got back from the Grand Tetons, where I worked out my new HD 1.4 teleconverter on the DA 300mm. Here's consecutive shots of a coyote pup, essentially the same photo but one heavily cropped. I'm pretty happy with this combo. ISO 800, f5.6, 1/500th. No processing of the first. 2nd is sharpened a bit and brought the shadows up to show the colour in his eyes. No noise reduction in these images.

A few from today. The bear was a bit of a surprise. It poked it's head up out of some thick brush not too far from where I was.
