I final got out for some photography today, it's been about three months due to a move.

Tried out the 1.4TC with the 500. Too bad I cut of the butt on the second one.
Very Funny! I got almost the same pic a while ago while trying the HDTC on the 250-600/5.6 !

dsport,

As a lens review it looks like a 10 for the DA 560.

That last image is awesome.

Do I see a photographer in the reflection in the eye? - I think I do!

That eye is a very wide angle reflection... looks like sky and the outline of the hide

Wow! Can I ask what you're using for noise reduction? The detail seems high and the noise low for ISO 800.

It seems I can not stay away from this club
A few photos from this years Bighorn Rut, unfortunately Derek was not able to make it and there was very little headbanging.
My opinion on the D7100-300/2.8-1.4TC- Camera is backwards with weird menus but the lens combo works for me.
Post processing is also very different!
C&C is always welcome.

You are right about Nikon being backward. I had a D2X for awhile and it screwed my mind over trying to learn to shoot with it. Everything was done backward like attaching a lens, focusing direction, and even inserting the memory cards is backward. Nice in the hand though and sharp images as long as you didn't go past ISO 400. I wound up giving it to my brother who was a big Nikonista.

It's getting better and better. Nice series. What are major difference in PP?

Looks like very high ISO and heavy noise reduction. But the moment is very right!

If the pic is heavy cropped, I will do noise reduction. But these three pics have not undergone NR.
Thanks.
My review with serveral pics undergone NR here

Yes. And a very long way off. I've been watching these loons and mergansers for the last week or so, usually in the morning. I had two occasions where mergansers got a decent size fish and swallowed it reasonably close in, but the light was low, I had the shutter speed slow. The fish wave back and forth quickly. I'm surprised I got anything out of this one. I kept the shutter speed high.

Travis: great shots. I saw on of Alistair's and you guys were right in the middle of them.
