That was a great price. I had not seen one for less than double that, usually three times. Mine was USD124, and missing the A/M switch when complete ones were selling for 175-200. Was that one of the sellers who does not participate in the worldwide market and limits themselves to the US market.

The lens was the only photo related thing he was selling. It was only posted a few minutes when I found it. Could not resist buying at that price. I don't think he knew what he had and I don't know if he sells worldwide.

he was there long enough to get about 10 shots off and get the focus in...there were some pictures that had to be thrown out cause of movement

Nice - that little hook in the beak looks ominous.

They're not known as the "butcher bird" for nothing! Once, when I was a kid.... about 10 years old.... I had an up close and personal encounter with one of these little, ornery SOBs! He took a large hunk out of my finger faster than a 10-year-old can move! Drew blood, a LOT of blood! I made the mistake of trying to grab him from a perch in a barn. He DID NOT want to be grabbed! I had no idea what kind of bird it was, so I went to the school library and educated myself, and from that day forward, I've know all about the Northern Shrike! The US Navy actually had an early guided missile named The Shrike.

But.... I digress! Nice photo of the Shrike! TFS and bringing back a lot of memories.
