Great! Thanks for the link. Since I have 2 sets for extension tubes, I can get within the 20 foot range, if I want, by putting together over 100mm of tubes. One set at 58mm of extension gets the lens into a very reasonable focusing range for birds and the like. Now for spring and some "wild" birds and other creatures.
Alan W.
P.S. I do so love rotary engine cars.
Alan. You should also consider what this does to maximum focus. You will find you are in a somewhat tight range depending on the focus extension (range) the lens has on its own

Make sure to post some shots once you do.
The bigma is a great lens, especially for walkabouts. Mine is still by far my most used lens since it's just so versatile.

Once in a while I stop at this spot during lunch to see what's there....my 1 friend had 8 other friends over all hanging out in the same small tree. Anyways, here is one...
That's a great shot!

Agree with ya Dave, didnt do what I set out to do,show that birds tail, goshawk is
another one thats confused with accipiters, banding on tail clearly shows the
difference.Did take it for a challenge, it was kinda like shootin inside an icecube.
knew Id have some compromises... whites vs. blacks, lights vs. darks.
Heres another from same series, same exposure, tried to get rid of some distractions
toned it down a little in PP, purple fringe tool, CA removal tool.

Like that open wheel stuff spyder nailed, wish someone could teach those
nascar guys and danica how to make right turns, instead of just lefty's all the time.

That's what I'm talking about--nice work! That outrageously bright light after a snow & ice dump can be a hell of a challenge.

Very nice belrosevj ! I think you are lucky to have that sigma and too bad they don't still make it. I love my canon 400 f5.6 but no IS like the sigma on a pentax body. I'll bet they would sell a boatload in pentax mount if they re-released it.(I'd get one!)

thanks for the kind words. I am indeed lucky. It is very rare for this lens to come up for sale. I managed to get one when it turned up on ebay about two years ago. IMO best $700.00 spent

Heck no Kryss, wish I would have shot it that way, would of saved us both the bother.
Wondering if I could impose upon you to have a "crack" at this one.Can see
the large banded drake(male). On left is hen(female) has no neck band but does
have a leg band, hoping that maybe someone skilled in PP,as yourself is,might try
your magic and see if we could get some data.PM me and I'll try to get the orignal
JPEG.Shoot Raw most of the time, but a mature male nothern harrier was in the area
and wanted to be ready, come hell or high water if that thing gave me the chance.
Was with same tammy 360 & AF1.7x on my K20.Was 'flooded' with banded birds
today,that hen is perplexing.

Cool Norbert, havnt seen much of that lens here, been wishing out loud for a shot of 'Goldy',2nd's a Wisant?(spelled right?)...
Do they roam over there or just casually stroll anywhere they want?

Almost right Bill. It's spelled Wisent (or European Bison - Bison bonasus). I took both shots in a game park just a few minutes from my home. The Wisent was nearly extincted in Europe, but now gradually reintroduced in some East European countries.
The eagle is a Aquila nipalensis.

Wow! great moonshot. I assume the 1.7 refers to the extender? I have a 300mmA* with a 2x extender in the beautiful original metal box it came in.

A 1000mm lens hand held at night, at what shutter speed? You must balance the lens on something?

Phil.
