Happy new year to all!!🎉🎉🎉 I'm fairly new to the long lens crew. I know that the new telelconverter has a good rep on the DA*300...Does the HD TC perform well with the old F* 300?
The still curious about that last question. (What's the IQ like with the HD TC and the F*300?) Thanks for anyone with experience who can give input.😀

F*300/4.5 optically is identical to FA*300/4.5. If there any HD TC IQ improvements over screw driven Tamron/Vivitar/Kenko 1.4X TC, they are miniscule and do not worth $500. You may have Vivitar TC for $95 brand new.

Is IQ here good enough for you:

K-5 + FA*300/4.5 + Vivitar Series-1 AF 1.4X TC?

Welcome to the forums! Absolutely you do nothing inappropriate; rather we're delighted you shared your photos with us!

I also have just posted my first photo here with my Tokina 400; a great lens, isn't it?

Again, thanks for joining us, and we look forward to more of your posts!

Thanks CSA for your encouragement, glad to be part of Pentax forum. Eager to learn many things from this excellent site.

Yes certainly the 400mm Tokina lens deserves a good place in the MF telephoto lens list.
I don't know why my posted pics are less sharp than in my laptop.

Another pic from this beautiful lens

I find its best to link to the photo. I upload to my own web site server, others use filckr/picasa etc. You can use the link icon or write the bbcode syntax directly:

[IMG]http://www: ... url ..../IMG.jpg[/IMG]

see
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode

I also crop/ resize to around 1000px or xga, I think the site auto resizes bigger pics , depending on the settings in your user control panel (in the "my account" menu). In any case its always annoying if viewers have to use scroll bars to view a pic although most folks these days will have a screen at least 1800 px across.

Uploading the original preserves the exif data. It will be resized, but that id's a nice benefit.

What a beautiful bird! We don't have that variety around here - just an elusive American Redstart once in a while -
