I put my 140F onto the 400 f4 to see what happens. A bit more ca, but I'm surprised how clear it is. This is close to minimum focus distance.

Trying out my old 600mm mirror. It's OK with some PP if, and I mean IF, you nail the focus. LV, tripod and lots of lights a necessity!

I'm almost embarrassed to post a drab female Red Wing Blackbird after all the exotic, to N. Americans, birds posted in this thread of late. But we can only shoot the locals can't we now? Took the K5 and my old Pentax M 400/5.6 down to the pond and managed a few.





I knew their diet included insects, seeds, berries and frogs but it seems they will take a minnow as well if they can get one. The pond is full of them this time of year.
