Another Dipper. I watched this one catch one small fish after another, but none of the shots turned out.

Great owl shot. Oddly, yesterday I saw two pygmy owls from the truck while driving.

I have seen another one days before but I only had my 35mm lens attached to the camera and it was getting dark. Nothing turned out to be decent.

I wish I would see some of the eagles you have posted.

Thanks. Looks like the dipper is dancing for you.

A couple of weeks ago a metal printing company contacted me about using my photos. He sent me some pics of the first ones he has printed for an upcoming show in Vancouver. The top five are mine..
Congrats, Travis! I've heard of printing on AL, but have never see it. Will have to ask around at camera club.

Frank, black shouldered kites can be found around coastal wetlands and estuaries.

Thanks Frank, I'm in Canberra and live on a nature reserve, they are fairly common here in the bushland, and they seem to be eating quite well lately.

Thanks for the compliment...

My Pentax K5IIs and the Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG earned their keep today:

I would have been far happier if I had my Pentax FA*600mm f/4 - but to be honest, the sigma 100-300mm f/4 is considerably smaller and less cumbersome to use. I was crouched under the overbearing heat of the Australian sun on an embankment with a near 60 degree incline, under conditions like that hand holding a 600mm lens simply isn't an option.

Cool King fisher love the light Sigma did a nice job there . The FA 600 / 4 is double the wieght of the A 600 / 5.6 and heavier than my A 400 / 2.8 which is a pain to carry around. so i understand what you mean

Love these KF shots !

I have just purchased a Sigma 120-300/2.8 which I used for the first time yesterday. It performed brilliantly in extremely challenging conditions (so overcast that at 10.00 I was shooting at 1/500, f8 and ISO6,400) ! I used the x2.0 Sigma converter on it for most of the day (until even 6,400 wasn't enough - it did get better though) and will take the x1.4 next time too. Can you use these on the 100-300/4 ? The IQ degradation really is minimal and the extra reach very valuable indeed.
