An ordinary little bird that stays here in the winter. Taken before Christmas.

Good shot, Swip.

Thanks for the encouragements. I think the fruits are crabapples.
Swip, I agree, they look like crab apples. We used to grow them when I was young. My mother and grandmother used to make crab apple jelly from them. The only thing they were good for because they are about the size of cherries and usually had so many imperfections and bugs that get in pome fruits (codlin moth) that they were unattractive to eat any other way.

Very nice.
January is prime hummingbird season here in Phoenix. They must like our sunny and 70 degree days this time of year.

Spent a couple hours at Gilbert Water Ranch on a Saturday. A couple hummingbirds were kind enough to pose for me.

Shot handheld with a K5iis and my Sigma 100-300 f4 + Vivitar 1.4x TC for a reach of 420mm

These are ~30% crops

Great golden eye shots dane, I went down to the river today to see if I could get some images. There's a Golden eye hanging out with a Merganser down there. I can't get close to them though, maybe tomorrow. I'm sitting here trying to devise a new plan.

Great shooting everyone as usual - just some awesome shots on this thread! I really enjoy following the photos from all the talented photographers that contribute here! My new granddaughter is doing great and I finally had a chance to get out for an hour this morning. I decided to chase down that Snowy Owl that I was hoping to get over Christmas and that Norm got while he was visiting down here in Niagara. Had some luck, although it was very cold and windy. I staked out a fence post, since there were a few other photogs there, and wouldn't you know it, the Snowy came close - too close for the flight shots - since I had the DA 300 prime on and wasn't about to change lenses under the conditions!
Here's a few all taken with the K3 and DA 300mm.
