Wonderful Gary. I love the feather detail. It is very difficult to get a great shot of waxwings.

Some shots from K-5 and new DA*300. Getting much better results on larger birds compared to Sigma 170-500. Great lens, now can't wait for TC.

Just checked all shots since my latest visit, my compliments to all! Some very awesome work in here!
I`m too busy with other things lately so not much contribution from my part (and commenting on +10 pages is somewhat timeconsuming, lol) but I gave all the great stuff a thumbs up

From the archives and without feathers:

Nature

Had a bit of a surprise in the back yard this morning - looked out and there were a bunch of White Wing Doves - looked again and there were none??? Saw a brown "lump" - took a look through the Sigma 150-500 on my K30 and here's what I saw..............

Some shots from yesterday's stroll in the local Zoo with K-5 and Tokina SD 400. Altough manual focus, I find the lens very easy to focus even on moving subjects and it's nice and lightweight, very easy to handhold and carry it around all day.

Lunch time!

We can tell when a hawk is around as all the songbirds usually at the feeder all day will be gone hiding. We have Mourning Doves here which we have seen make a meal for the hawk also.

Very nice detailed shots!

Nice shots. I had one of those almost hit me as I walked out the side door today. He was powering in from the back yard at birds feeding on the ground where I throw seed. I upset the attack and he didn't get anything, although I wouldn't miss a House Sparrow or two. Better an Accipiter than a cat in my book. Occasionally we see mounds of feathers that are likely hawk kills.
