Bewick's Wren, Sigma 150-500mm

Bewick's Wren, (I think), Sigma 150-500mm @500mm, 2:1 crop. From this morning's bird walk in Austin. The Sigma/K30 combo works really well.

That is excellent. Good light really makes such a difference in a photo. We've had almost constant grey skies lately.

tony I highly recommend the af 540 flash...I used to be really limited on the grey days but now I can shoot with low light and get pictures I am happy with..

Thanks for that suggestion. I rarely use a flash, but it may be worth considering.

My kitten got caught in a tree today and my wife asked me to help it, so I did what any man would do and grabbed my camera.

Those shots are fantastic !! I can imagine going with such a monster like 1200mm lens is a whole lot of effort!! Thanks for sharing those fantastic captures - I love the atmospheric effect on telephoto shot and panorama has great composition with lines of clear distinction between a sea and the sky.. both shots are great and surely worth sharing !!--manntax

Great colour and sharpness Ken!

I rarely have a chance to get out with the 1200 anymore, but did this morning. Probably due to the time of year, but there was very little wildlife around and the lighting was horrible, but it was nice to get out.

I noticed a band of light with a two freighters on the horizon. The atmospheric conditions made them move around and seem to float on the water which was very cool to watch. While it doesn't capture the effect of what I was seeing, here is a shot....

The only other lens I had with me was 28mm.....so here is the same shot with it to show how distant the freighter actually was. The freighter in the pic above is the smaller one shown here on the left.....

Great shots Amy, the flash is very effective. I need to practice more with mine.

I would have done the same, cool shots! Kitty don't look too happy.

Great eagle shots prior too!

Nicely done Amy!
A few more, the first is just to show the k-3 resolution @ 100% crop...
The crop is really impressive! What SW do you use for PP?

Rob, you left out the money to get to where those gorgeous bids are. That's my biggest drawback. Too many places to go and no money to get there.
Well, if I didn't have the money, I wouldn't have the opportunity! I have the money, but I don't have the time. I'll just have to enjoy the work of those who do have the opportunity.
