Much better.
Is that a muskrat? Nice sequence.

Snowy in flight

After months of encounters, finally managed to get a couple of semi-decent shots of the snowy in flight.
Hopefully I will get better ones before they head back to the Arctic.

Mandarin Duck

Showing what the Sigma 500mm F/4.5 can do. A slight halo is seen around some parts of the close-up but I've seen a lot worse from some good photographers. You don't see it on the full size image.

The full sized photo seen here:

I can't believe I'm getting this kind of IQ from a $200 lens.[COLOR="Silver"]
Congrats! I recommend using Lens Align for all long lenses but it looks like you don't need to use it here. Sometimes camera lens combinations don't need any adjustment at all.

Also everyone, photograph your birds with your exposure a bit to the right. I know it slows a camera down but you just have to be careful in the field.

A few images taken with the new 1.4 TC and 60-250. The exif says it's 350mm...cross posted from post your photos.

A few quick images from this morning...

A crow stopped by up on the hill. The thing I find impressive with this shot is he's at leas 40 meters away and the image is heavily cropped, but the bird shows a high degree of feather detail.

And of course, your usual squirrel images.

Gary, Ken, and Norm, I bow before your greatness. Seriously, excellent images.

Humble cross-post of my own. The squirrel thought it was hiding. I came upon the scene right as the neighbor's cat chased it up our tree, and the cat scooted back down the tree when he saw me and our dog. Normally, squirrels will quickly scoot around to the opposite side of a tree from me, but this one stayed frozen in place. (I was only about 15 feet beneath it.) K-30 + 55-300 WR.

For sure!

I wasn't happy about our last (I hope) snow--seems like I've had to shovel more often this winter than any I can remember. I'll say this, though: it made for nice light. K-5IIs & Sigma 500/4.5

Thanks for all your replies

What would you think of 70 to 200 f2.8 with 1.4tc

And 500mm 4.5

Would you miss the gap between "300" (tc) and 500?

Caution- Non Bird Photo Ahead

The Ringmaster. Sigma 100-300/4 with Kenko 1.5 TC, handheld for a few minutes instead on loose on a ball head . A good paid gig about traditional Circus music.
